Basement, Basement Header, Crawlspace, and Exposed Floor Insulation

You can access LiveSmart BC grants for basement and crawlspace insulation upgardes. An uninsulated or poorly insulated basement can account for 20 to 35 percent of a home's total heat loss. (1)

Basement insulation is particularly important because the earth does not provide good insulation. If your basement isn't insulated, you can likely make significant energy efficiency improvements with this upgrade.

Grants are also available for attic and wall insulation.

Moisture barriers should be added to the crawlspace floor when adding insulation to the walls or floor above crawlspace.
