City of Duncan Toilet Rebate

The City of Duncan will send a rebate cheque for qualifying installations to the applicant, individual or company. Rebates are $60 for each low flush (4.8L or lower) and $100 for each dual flush (3/6L) toilet, to a lifetime maximum of two rebates per residential or commercial unit.

Eligibility

Replacements:
  • This offer is only for Owners of buildings that are connected to both the City of Duncan water and sewer systems.
  • There is a lifetime limit of two toilet rebates per residential or commercial unit.
  • Simple toilet replacements do not require a plumbing permit. However, if you are also renovating, you must apply for a building permit.
  • For a small fee, old toilets may be disposed off at either location:
    Bing’s Creek Transfer Station
    3900 Drinkwater Road

    Harper’s Recycling
    3015 Boys Road

  • For new construction in the City of Duncan, low flush (6 litre) toilets are mandatory. However, the City is providing a $40 rebate for those property owners who install Dual Flush toilets (3/6 litre) instead of the mandatory low flush models. There is no maximum for this incentive.

Application procedure

  1. Fill out the application form
  2. Provide a receipt dated after June 30, 2005 for the purchase of a CSA-approved low flush toilet.
  3. Provide proof of installation of a low flush or dual flush toilet and proof that the old toilet has been removed and destroyed. This is achieved by three photographs:
    • A photograph of the old toilet in place
    • A photograph of the old toilet removed with the tank broken
    • A photograph of the new 6 litre toilet in place
