Coquitlam Toilet Replacement Rebate Program

The City of Coquitlam is offering a rebate of $100 for each toilet replaced with a new ultra low flow model up to a maximum of two toilets per residential dwelling. Funding for this program is limited.

Eligibility

  • The toilet must have been purchased and installed after July 29, 2004. The rebate is not retroactive.
  • Your toilet qualifies if its flushing capacity is greater than 13 liters. You can usually find the flush volume stamp on the inside or back of tank, on the tank label, on the top of the bowl, or on the flush valve.
  • The rebate is available to Flat Rate (residential) customers of the City's Water Utility.
  • The rebate does not apply to Metered customers. This is because Metered customers directly benefit from reduced consumption as sewer and water rates paid are consumption based.
  • Ultra low flow toilets must be CSA or Warnock Hersey Certified as 6.0 liters per flush to be eligible for a rebate.

Application procedure

To qualify for a rebate the registered owner must provide proof of purchase and installation of an ultra low flow toilet and provide proof that the old toilet has been removed and destroyed.
  • Requests for rebate are to be made on the application form and must be completed in full by the registered owner of the property.
  • The application must be accompanied by a receipt dated after July 29, 2004 for the purchase of an ultra low flow toilet. The receipt must specify the manufacturer's name and model number for the toilet.
  • To prove an old toilet has been replaced the applicant shall provide three photographs:
    • A photograph of the old toilet in place
    • A photograph of the old toilet removed with the tank broken
    • A photograph of the new 6.0 liter toilet in place
