Technical Services Representative

City Green Solutions, a Victoria based social enterprise, is seeking to hire a motivated and organized Technical Services Representative to join our Energy Efficiency Services team. The successful candidate must have an aptitude for multitasking and the flexibility to take on a wide variety of administrative and technical tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the ecoENERGY Technical and Client Services teams on service delivery
  • Provide support for contractors, partners, and clients
  • Research Energy Efficiency Products
  • Assist in the development of resources for energy efficiency programs and services
  • Assist with a wide range of other technical and program tasks as time permits
Qualifications (Skills and Experience)

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Ability to interpret technical material and translate so that a layperson will understand.
  • Good listening skills & a high tolerance for interruptions and multitasking.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Diploma/degree in relevant field or combination of relevant experience an asset.
  • Strong writing and editing skills an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, building construction and/or building science.
  • Knowledge of energy efficient building materials and mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of basic arithmetic and geometry.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints an asset.
  • Excellent computer skills, knowledge of SharePoint and Hot 2000 an asset.
  • Good communication (oral, written and telephone) skills.
  • Ability to interact well with contractors and homeowners.
  • Interested in continual learning to meet the evolving knowledge requirements of the energy efficiency sector in BC.
Other Information
  • Location: Downtown Victoria Office
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Job training provided
  • The successful candidate will be required to complete a three month probationary period

Youth EcoInternship

City Green Solutions has the following internship position available. This position has been funded by the Government of Canada’s Economic Action Plan and is open youth aged 15-30 who meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Unemployed
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a person to whom refugee protection has been granted under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Legally entitled to work in your province or territory
  • Willing to complete a police records check
