City Green is working with BC Hydro to deliver the Heat Pump Sizing Pilot, to support contractors with heat pump sizing and system design. The pilot aims to answer the question, “are heat pump sizing services leading to better-sized heat pumps?”  

Current Status: Phase 2. 

Phase 2 of the pilot is investigating the effectiveness of Energy Advisors working directly with contractors and homeowners to provide F280 Heat Loss Calculations, electrical panel sizing assessments, and duct sizing assessments. This phase examines the effectiveness of heat pump sizing services when offered separately from EnerGuide home evaluations. Phase 2 of the pilot is running until December 2026. 

Phase 1 is concluded after investigating heat pump sizing services integrated with EnerGuide services. Thank you to all participants of phase 1! Your participation and feedback are highly appreciated.
